Workday вошел в цифровую торговую площадку правительства Новой Зеландии

Workday joins New Zealand government digital marketplace Wed, 26th Aug 2026 Workday has been added to the New Zealand Government Digital Delivery Agency Marketplace, giving eligible government agencies a pre-vetted route to buy its software. The move places Workday on a central procurement platform used by the New Zealand public sector to source approved digital products and services. Its platform was assessed against government benchmarks for security, commercial integrity and operational assurance before being admitted to the marketplace. For agencies, the listing means they can review and procure Workday's applications through a single approved channel instead of running separate procurement exercises. The products covered include software for human resources, finance and planning. The marketplace is intended to help government bodies adopt digital systems through a more standardised buying process. In practice, this can shorten procurement timelines for vendors that have already passed official checks and reduce duplication for agencies that need similar systems. Workday already has a presence in New Zealand's public sector, working with more than 12 organisations in the country, including public service agencies, local government bodies and universities. Public sector route The listing is likely to strengthen Workday's position in a market where software providers compete for long procurement cycles and a limited number of large government contracts. Access to a pre-approved marketplace can make it easier for vendors to reach agencies that prefer to buy from established panels and approved catalogues. Government buyers often use such arrangements to reduce procurement risk and confirm that suppliers meet baseline standards before formal purchasing begins. That matters particularly for systems handling payroll, workforce records, budgeting and other sensitive administrative functions. Workday's marketplace inclusion covers its Human Capital Management, Financial Management and Adaptive Planning products. These systems are typically used by large organisations seeking to replace older internal software with unified tools for workforce administration, finance and forecasting. Workday linked the listing to broader efforts within government to move away from fragmented agency-by-agency systems. A more consistent set of back-office systems can help departments standardise processes and simplify data management, although each agency still makes its own procurement and implementation decisions. AI emphasis Workday also framed the listing around the use of artificial intelligence in government administration. It said the marketplace route could help agencies prepare to adopt AI tools over time while retaining control of their own data and services. That message reflects a wider shift among business software groups, which increasingly present AI functions as an extension of finance, HR and IT systems rather than as stand-alone products. In the public sector, however, adoption tends to depend as much on governance, security review and procurement rules as on product design. Jonathan Brabant, Regional Sales Director, Workday New Zealand, commented on the listing. "Listing on the GDDA Marketplace gives New Zealand public sector agencies a simpler path to modernising how they manage people, money, and IT," said Jonathan Brabant, Regional Sales Director, Workday New Zealand. "This milestone streamlines core processes while laying the foundation for responsible, AI-driven service transformation." Brabant also described the listing as a sign of the level of scrutiny expected in public sector buying. "This is a signal of what's possible for New Zealand's public sector as a whole," said Brabant. "The GDDA was built to give agencies confidence that the technology they choose has already been held to the highest standard of scrutiny. Being part of the marketplace means we can stand alongside the government as a trusted partner in building a more modern, resilient, future-ready public service, not just for the agencies we work with today, but for the wider digital ambitions New Zealand has set for itself. Trust between government and technology providers isn't built overnight, and it isn't given lightly. This listing represents an aligned commitment between Workday and the New Zealand government to raising the bar for what secure, accountable digital infrastructure looks like in the public sector." Workday's addition to the marketplace gives New Zealand agencies another approved option for core administrative software as government organisations continue to review ageing systems, procurement efficiency and oversight of data-heavy digital services.
