Школа Wellen Park в Норт-порте имеет почтовый адрес в Венеции

Wellen Park High School: North Port or Venice? NORTH PORT, Fla. (WWSB) - Wellen Park High School, Sarasota County’s first new high school in 25 years, sits within North Port city limits — but its official mailing address lists Venice, Florida. The school opened to students this week for the first time. Its address is 1 Eaglerise Drive, Venice, Florida, and it is served by the Venice Post Office. The Sarasota County School District said the school’s original address on Manasota Beach Road was changed after coordination with Sarasota County and the City of North Port. The reason: a conflict with other addresses on that road. The school now receives its mail through the Venice Post Office, even though the building sits within North Port city limits. Not everyone sees the location question as significant. Resident Randy Williams said, “I think a lot of people have way too much time on their hands and they spend too much time on social media. What difference does it make.” The question of the school’s location drew repeated calls to the newsroom and discussion on social media ahead of the school’s opening week. Copyright 2026 WWSB.
