Owner Matt M. said staff has been working to transfer as many customers as possible to the Plaza at Whitney Ranch Banquet Hall, while clients who don't wish to transfer will be contacted about other options. Among those affected is Xochi Valdivia, who spent two years planning her wedding to fiancé Corey after nearly 18 years together. The couple's ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 26, with more than 180 guests expected to travel to the Las Vegas area. Valdivia said she learned of the closure through a vendor rather than directly from the venue. The vendor, who provides photo booth and floral rental services, reached out Friday to ask whether Valdivia had received an email from Prestige about the shutdown. "I started immediately trying to figure out what I was gonna do," Valdivia said. "I have not slept. I've been depressed. It's just been very hard." The email from Prestige offered to move Valdivia's wedding to the recommended alternate venue, but that location was already booked for her date, leaving her without a workable transfer option. Valdivia said she is now seeking the return of a deposit exceeding $7,500 and hasn't ruled out legal action if the refund isn't issued promptly. "I have my last dress fitting Friday, and I'm not even excited because I'm just nervous, like I'm scared now," Valdivia said. "What could happen when you trust the venue and trust people and they let you down?" Valdivia has since secured a new venue, Signature Event Center, through the same vendor who first alerted her to the closure; that vendor is also providing floral and photo booth services for the wedding. Records reviewed for this story show the venue has dozens of other contracts now in limbo, meaning additional clients could face similar cancellations or last-minute relocations.
