Организаторы отменили теледебат по выборам губернатора Висконсина из-за отсутствия согласия всех кандидатов

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation canceled its 2026 gubernatorial debate. The WBA Foundation said Tuesday that the debate, which was supposed to happen on Oct. 9, will not occur because of legal precedent. WBA Foundation said for the debate to air, multiple candidates must participate. “Two invitations were sent and both had to be accepted in order to have a debate,” WBA Foundation said. “That did not happen.” In a statement to Wisconsin State Capitol Bureau Chief Vanessa Kjeldsen, David Crowley’s campaign said he was planning to participate in the debate. “David was looking forward to participating in this debate and continuing the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association’s more than 30-year tradition of putting candidates directly before voters statewide. We look forward to debating Congressman Tiffany on October 21 and speaking directly with Wisconsinites about why David Crowley is the right choice to deliver for working families and serve as a governor for all Wisconsinites.” Tom Tiffany’s team has not yet responded to WMTV’s request for comment. WMTV 15 News will update this story when we receive a response.
