SHORT FILMS Watch: Wacky Fun 'Slimy Joe' Homemade 2-Minute Horror Short Film by Alex Billington August 25, 2026 Source: YouTube "Don't splash Slimy Joe!" Heed the warning! Here's a super fun 2-minute horror comedy short film made by filmmaker Josh Stifter. His latest film Slimy Joe is a fun short about a lil' green goblin guy named Slimy Joe who can't get wet. What happens when the kids playing in the pool accidentally get him wet? Find out in Slimy Joe. Starring Maximus & Raphael Stifter, along with Josh Stifter & Daniel Degnan as the Dads. They made this for fun just to create something one summer day. "A monster. A pool. Some friends. My kids. A few hours. We didn't make it because it was important. We made it because making a stupid monster movie sounded fun. Sometimes that's all the reason you need to make something. So grab your friends. Grab your kids. Grab whatever weird shit you have lying around. What are you going to make next?" While working on other stuff, or if you want to have fun, make something just because. I dig this filmmaking positivity. This Slimy Joe reminds me of the hilarious Cheddar Goblin from the film Mandy. Enjoy (and don't get him wet). Thanks to Twitter for the tip. Intro from YouTube: "Sometimes you don't need a budget, a crew, a festival strategy or even a particularly good reason to make a movie. Just having a monster puppet, a swimming pool, your kids, a couple friends and a few hours to kill is enough of an excuse... That's SLIMY JOE. We shot this little monster short in just a few hours with Dan, Strauss, Max and Raphie because it sounded fun. That's really it. No grand artistic statement. Not worrying about whether it was 'important.' We got together and made something because we could... Movies like Slimy Joe remind me why I started making sh!t in the first place: Making movies is fun." Slimy Joe is written & directed & created by filmmaker Josh Stifter based in Atlanta, GA - you can follow him @joshstifter or head to his Patreon for his prod. company "Flush Studios". Puppet and practical effects by Nathan Strauss. Made in their backyard at home. For more info on the film, visit its YouTube page. To discover more shorts (including animation), click here.
