Представители традиционных лидеров региона Вольта похвалили министра иностранных дел за вклад в развитие региона

The Volta Regional House of Chiefs has commended Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for what it describes as his commitment to the development of the Volta Region and urged him to continue advocating for the region while serving Ghana. The President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of the Anfoega Traditional Area, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, made the call when he led a delegation of traditional leaders on a courtesy visit to Mr Ablakwa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Accra on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. The visit was to congratulate the Minister on his birthday and appointment as Foreign Affairs Minister, while strengthening ties between the Volta Regional House of Chiefs and the Ministry. Togbe Tepre Hodo IV said the Volta Region had historically faced challenges in securing its fair share of national resources and development opportunities. He, however, noted that the situation had changed significantly in recent times, which he attributed partly to Mr Ablakwa’s efforts to ensure that the interests of the region received greater attention. The traditional leader commended the Minister for his contributions to Ghana’s development and his continued interest in the progress of his constituency and the Volta Region. He also praised Mr Ablakwa for maintaining a strong connection with the region despite his national responsibilities. Togbe Tepre Hodo IV encouraged the Minister to sustain his advocacy for the Volta Region while continuing to serve the broader interests of Ghana. Mr Ablakwa expressed appreciation to the chiefs for the visit and their congratulatory messages on his birthday and appointment as Foreign Affairs Minister. He said he did not take the gesture for granted, particularly because the traditional leaders had travelled to Accra to pay the courtesy call. The Minister disclosed that he had initially intended to visit the Volta Regional House of Chiefs himself, but the chiefs had respectfully declined the offer and instead decided to visit him at his official workplace. He described the opportunity to host the traditional leaders at the Ministry as a privilege and thanked them for the gesture. The meeting is expected to further strengthen relations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and traditional leadership in the Volta Region.
