Valley Domino’s franchise wins 6th straight ‘Gold Franny’ award for community impact HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - A Valley-based Domino’s franchisee and her team took home their sixth “Gold Franny” award given out by Domino’s. The Gold Franny is awarded to stellar Domino’s franchises who not only are committed to a business model but have deep-rooted connection to the community, according to Domino’s. Becca Miller is the owner and franchisee of 18 different Domino’s locations in Virginia, and she competed against more than 700 franchisees for the award. “We’re a national brand, but we are locally owned,” Miller said. “Being a part of our local community is really important to us.” Miller said the franchise has raised close to $50,000 this year in-store for local nonprofits and schools, partnering with organizations across the Valley. That mission shows up in small moments, too. Kaylen Green, the operating partner for the Elkton Domino’s, recalled a customer who arrived late to pick up a carryout order after a car accident. “We gave her her food for free,” Green said. “We remade it for her, asked her if she wanted anything in addition to that, and she left a lot happier than when she came in.” Several supervisors in Miller’s stores started part-time while pursuing other paths. However, they stayed after connecting with the culture and purpose. “That is what I strive on is the success of others and all of our team members,” Miranda Rivera, a supervisor under Miller’s leadership, said. “It’s been a beautiful thing to watch to see all of the team members grow and achieve all of these wonderful things.” The Golden Franny award is given to the franchisee, but Miller emphasized how important it is to recognize the team who made it possible. “They’re my family,“ Miller said. ”My whole job is to take care of them.
