The programs, delivered entirely online, are designed to give participants flexible access to training regardless of location or schedule. Each program runs for either eight or 16 weeks, depending on the track selected. Collectively, the six certificate programs span the major sectors of the cannabis industry, including cultivation, development and manufacturing, retail and sales, compliance, and medical applications, giving students a range of entry points depending on their career interests. Registration is open now, and the first cohort of students will receive discounted pricing. Participants do not need to be enrolled at UNLV to take part in the certificate programs, opening the offerings to the broader public. "This is an industry where people are becoming more accepting of the product. The medical use is gaining more traction and the industry is really gaining legitimacy, so our hope is that these programs really allow a whole slew of new people to enter the industry and build really great careers inside of it," said Green Flower CEO Max Simon. Simon's comments point to a broader goal behind the partnership: widening the on-ramp into cannabis careers as public acceptance, particularly around medical use, continues to build. Organizers say the certificate offerings are meant to meet demand from a wide range of prospective workers, from those just entering the workforce to professionals looking to pivot into cannabis-related careers. Additional details about program content, pricing, and enrollment are available on UNLV's lifelong learning cannabis program website.
