Брат певца Тони Ндиемы вспомнил, как тот в своих последних песнях предсказывал свою смерть

Tony Ndiema’s Brother Recalls Singer’s Haunting Final Lyrics About Death The family of late Ohangla singer Anton Okoth Ochieng, popularly known as Tony Ndiema, has reflected on his final days, with his brother Mike Msella recalling lyrics that have taken on a deeper meaning following the musician’s death. According to Msella, Ndiema had previously sung about death, words the family initially regarded as part of his artistic expression but now sees as an emotional farewell. “Before death came, Tony Ndiema sang about it. Like he saw it coming. We thought it was just lyrics. Now we know it was his goodbye,” Msella said on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. The revelation has added an emotional dimension to the mourning of the Ohangla star, whose music earned him a loyal following among fans of the Luo music genre. Msella also paid tribute to his brother while reflecting on the loss of some of the music industry’s most distinctive voices. “Wuod Okinyo, rest among the greats. Your voice will stay with us, just like theirs did,” he said. “It’s a painful pattern. The most unique voices, the best artists, are always taken when we need them most. They left a mark that death could never erase. And now you have joined them.” Ndiema died on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, and was laid to rest on Wednesday, August 5, at his ancestral home in Omoche Village, Gem Asumbi, Rangwe Constituency, Homa Bay County. Family members, friends, fellow musicians and mourners gathered at the burial ceremony to pay their final respects to the singer and celebrate the legacy he left behind. His death marked a significant loss to the Ohangla music scene, with fans and fellow artistes left to preserve his memory through his music. For Msella, however, Ndiema’s own words have acquired a different significance after his passing. What once sounded like ordinary song lyrics now serve as a poignant reminder of the singer’s artistry, his presence and the lasting impression he made on those who knew and listened to him.
