Ассоциация выпускников Texas Instruments выделила $200 000 на поддержку студентов Центра долголетия

Longevity Center Gift Keeps Post’s, TI’s Legacy Alive The Texas Instruments Alumni Association (TIAA) has committed $200,000 to The University of Texas at Dallas to establish the Texas Instruments Alumni Association Student Support Fund at the Center for Vital Longevity (CVL). The TIAA was co-founded by Max Post, who became the organization’s first president in 1999. After almost 40 years with TI, the newly retired Post organized the alumni group so that former TI employees could socialize, continue learning, volunteer and give back to the local community. That philosophy became a core part of TIAA, along with a vision for continuing education and social interaction for retirees.” James said that since its inception, TIAA and Post found unique ways to continue investing in education and nurturing the organization’s relationship with UT Dallas. Post died July 4, but his legacy continues through the people and organizations he inspired. “My father believed that just because you were retired, it didn’t mean your life was over,” said his daughter Becky Post. “It can be a whole new chapter where you find something you love to do.” Max Post’s passion for helping others, especially older people, was in step with the mission at CVL, where researchers work to understand how cognition and the brain develop throughout life and develop treatments that might prevent or halt cognitive decline. “Our partnership with TIAA has been instrumental in furthering the center’s mission, especially as it relates to public science education and support for the next generation of research scientists,” said Dr. Michael Rugg, CVL director and the Distinguished University Chair in Behavioral and Brain Sciences in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences. “We value it enormously, and Max Post’s unstinting advocacy for CVL both within the association and more broadly, as well as his personal generosity, are deeply appreciated. He will be much missed.” The TIAA Student Support Fund will help prepare future researchers while continuing the partnership that Post championed between the alumni association and the CVL. “When you talk about a salt-of-the-earth kind of person, it was him,” said Cindy Post of her father. “He was so gracious, so humble, and he always thought of others before himself. What was important to him was investing in people and giving back.” Media Contact: Stephanie Ghandour, UT Dallas, 972-883-5483, [email protected], or the Office of Media Relations, UT Dallas, (972) 883-2155, [email protected].
