Carolyn Kendall has joined the independent construction consultancy to establish and lead the new service, providing strategic, commercial and technical advice to public and private sector organisations investing in and delivering infrastructure. At the same time, organisations responsible for existing Public Private Partnership (PPP), Private Finance Initiative (PFI), Non-Profit Distributing (NPD) and Design, Build, Finance and Maintain (DBFM)assets are increasingly focused on long-term performance, lifecycle planning and contract expiry. A Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Carolyn brings more than 38 years’ experience across construction and infrastructure, including over 25 years specialising in public-private infrastructure. She has held senior roles with hub North Scotland, Currie & Brown Investments and Invesis (formerly BAM PPP), leading and advising on infrastructure programmes worth more than £2 billion across education, healthcare, transport and community sectors in the UK and Ireland. At Thomson Gray, she will lead a new advisory offering, supporting public bodies, investors, funders, project companies and delivery partners across both new infrastructure projects and operational assets. The service complements Thomson Gray’s established expertise in project management, cost consultancy, building surveying, construction quality management and sustainability. Stuart Gray, managing director at Thomson Gray, said: “Infrastructure investment is entering a new phase and clients need advisers who understand not only project delivery, but also the commercial and financial frameworks that underpin long-term success. Carolyn brings exceptional experience across the infrastructure market and her appointment significantly strengthens the advice we can offer clients. “Many organisations are exploring new approaches to infrastructure investment, while others are preparing for key decisions around asset performance, lifecycle management and contract expiry. This new service enables us to provide independent, commercially focused support throughout that journey.” Carolyn Kendall said: “Successful infrastructure projects depend on understanding the priorities and pressures of both the public and private sectors. Projects must be commercially viable, deliverable and capable of creating long-term value. “Thomson Gray has a strong reputation for practical, senior-led advice and deep technical expertise. I am looking forward to helping clients navigate investment, procurement, delivery and operational decisions across the full lifecycle of their assets.”
