Tanasha Donna Makes Music Comeback With New Single “VAI” Following One-Year Break Kenyan musician and former radio presenter Tanasha Donna has announced her return to the music industry with the release of a new single titled VAI, marking the end of a year-long hiatus. Sharing the announcement via Instagram on Sunday, August 24, 2026, the artist provided fans with a preview of the track, which incorporates Brazilian funk influences: “A whole year later & VAI is my comeback. Here’s a little tease. Let me know what y’all think.” Sound Evolution and Style The single introduces a shift in direction for Tanasha, incorporating vibrant Brazilian funk rhythms, high energy, and heavy basslines alongside her signature Afro-pop and R&B elements. In the accompanying preview clip, the singer appears in a black long-sleeved cropped knit top, matching textured mini skirt, glasses, and dark boots to complement the track’s aesthetic. Career Milestones and Independent Path The comeback follows several key developments in Tanasha’s musical trajectory. In October 2025, her Afro-R&B collaboration Poison, featuring American singer Olivia Longott, was submitted and accepted for Grammy consideration, highlighting her efforts to reach an international audience. Following her high-profile relationship and subsequent separation from Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz—with whom she shares a son—Tanasha has focused on building an independent music career and expanding her artistic identity across East Africa. VAI marks the beginning of her latest release cycle as she continues to explore new global soundscapes.
