В штате Орегон пройдет третий фестиваль астрономии на побережье

Sunset Bay Astronomy Festival returns to Coos Bay in September Sunset Bay and Shore Acres state parks, both part of the Sunset Bay Management Unit near Coos Bay, are once again holding the Sunset Bay Astronomy Festival from Sept. 10-12, giving stargazers the opportunity to explore the skies along the Oregon Coast. The three-day event includes guided hikes and interpretive programs, including a night-sky photography workshop on Friday and Saturday. A star party is planned each night. “The astronomy festival takes place around the Sunset Bay management unit, with most activities centered at Sunset Bay and Shore Acres, and the event has grown in popularity over the years," Park Manager Lee Ricci said. "It’s a fun way to experience the park at night and enjoy stargazing along the coast. This year we have an incredible team of volunteers and some very impressive telescopes, so we’re excited to welcome visitors, and keeping our fingers crossed for clear skies!” Organizers said the festival gives visitors a chance to see and learn more about the night sky. They noted that outdoor events are weather dependent. A parking permit is $10, and is required for parking at any areas in the Sunset Bay Management Unit. A full list of events can be seen on the state parks website.
