Сингл «Evergreen» от Стива Стайнсона раскрывает историю его lifelong связи с музыкой

His latest single, ‘Evergreen,’ moves Steve Stinson one step closer to his debut album, which drops next month, and, as all pre-album singles should, makes you want to know more. More about him as an artist and more about the music he makes. And if the songs that make up that forthcoming long-player share themes of becoming, evolution, and self-development, ‘Evergreen’ is about those fundamental things that never get lost through such personal growth- in Stinson’s case, his lifelong relationship with music. It’s quite a self-referential song, exploring his own experience of spending years making music for his own pleasure before finally committing to the art and sending his creations out into the wider world. And so ‘Evergreen’ is, in many ways, the story of itself. It’s a song built on growing tension and slow-burning anticipation, the music slowly brooding, rumbling, and rolling forward, distant but dense, pushing the lyrics to the fore, teasing and taunting until, almost three minutes in, those sonic pressures are unleashed, and the highs are hit. As a study in song crafting, it is a reminder not to give the goods away too soon, that less is, as always, more, that making them wait makes for a more richly rewarding experience. But it is the story behind the song where the real wisdom lies… although it doesn’t say it explicitly, Stinson is never that blunt, that obvious, that… well… crass, but the message I get from it is: if there is something you love, something that defines who you are, something that makes your life feel worthwhile, complete, go for it. An idea that can be applied to so many areas of our lives.
