Recycling : Steinert is expanding its presence in Mexico
The company's expansion activities in 2024 and 2025 focused on increasing production capacity at the STEINERT UniSort and STEINERT MSort facilities in Germany. The move to Mexico reflects the growing importance of the Mexican market for waste management, metal processing, and the mining industry, and it strengthens STEINERT’s commitment to developing long-term partnerships with local operators. By establishing a stronger presence in Mexico, STEINERT aims to respond more directly to customers’ requirements throughout the entire lifecycle of their sorting and separation systems, with the support of a dedicated warehouse and locally available spare parts.
Both Vinícius Souto and Robert Broughton, who are both Managing Directors of STEINERT USA, will provide close support for the expansion. “We are thrilled to announce the opening of STEINERT Mexico. The Mexican market is dynamic and full of incredible potential. This strategic expansion is a vital step forward in achieving our core mission: solving complex sorting challenges to create a world of infinite resources." Customers will benefit from improved access to technical expertise, application consulting and Spanish-language service support, as well as closer coordination during the planning and implementation of new projects. “With the opening of STEINERT Mexico, we have reached another milestone in our growth strategy,” says Peter Funke, CEO of the STEINERT Group.
A major project completed recently demonstrates the potential of the Mexican market. STEINERT was selected to design and supply the separation equipment for DIMECA’s new ferrous metal recovery line in central Mexico. A leading scrap metal processor, DIMECA will use advanced STEINERT separation and recovery technologies to process up to 20 tonnes of material per hour. The new line is designed to maximise operational efficiency and the recovery of valuable secondary raw materials. This project is an important milestone for STEINERT's operations in Mexico, providing a solid foundation for the company's future growth in the market.
