Студенты университета St. Ambrose открыли бесплатную клинику реабилитации для жителей Девенпорта

St. Ambrose student-led clinic offering free rehabilitation services DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - St. Ambrose University students are stepping up to help local residents get the physical rehabilitation they need — free of charge. The university’s Interprofessional Health Clinic started welcoming patients on Tuesday. The student-led clinic gives free care to people recovering from brain injuries, strokes, or other neurological conditions that make it tough to move, talk, eat, or go about daily life. The clinic is run by students in St. Ambrose’s physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology programs, with all care directly supervised by licensed professionals. A social worker is also on-site to help connect patients with additional community resources and support. “This clinic provides an important bridge for people who need rehabilitation but have limited options for accessing care,” said Michael Puthoff, clinic director and professor of physical therapy at St. Ambrose University. The main goal is to help folks who are slipping through the cracks of the healthcare system, especially anyone who: - Doesn’t have health insurance - Is stuck with high copays or deductibles they can’t afford - Can’t find a doctor or therapist who takes their insurance - Has maxed out their insurance coverage for therapy. Appointments are held on Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Patients interested in learning more or scheduling an appointment may call 563-333-5865 or email [email protected]. Copyright 2026 KWQC.
