Учитель школы из Спрингфилда выйдет на ринг в легендарном стадионе «Фенуэй Парк»

Springfield educator set to appear at boxing tournament in Fenway Park SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A Springfield High school educator is trading the classroom for the ring once again, and this time, he’s doing it under the lights at Fenway Park. Pat ‘The Gorilla Ninja’ Casey has spent the last two months preparing for the biggest bare-knuckle fight of his career. By day, 35-year-old Pat Casey can be found in the corridors of Springfield Central High School, guiding and supporting students with autism in the schools’ LINCS program. But by night, he steps into a very different arena. Casey said stepping onto the mats is just another part of his professional life, “You know, I’m not a guy who has to be angry or like, it’s my job. Fighting is part of my job.” Casey’s been a mainstay in MMA promotions for years and has found a home with bare knuckle fighting championship, currently riding a three-fight win streak, two by knockout, “I mean, I love throwing hands. I love boxing. It suited my style well. And I saw the company was growing,” Casey said. Casey played football at Springfield Central and was inspired to start scraping by a wrestling coach. He now works there, and he said fighting and teaching have more similarities than people might think, “There’s an unpredictability, especially working with kids. Anything can happen. You’ve got to adjust to it. Same thing with fighting. You know, you’ve got to adjust on the fly. You’ve got to be able to adapt. You don’t know how the day is going to go.” As a Red Sox fan, Casey said it’ll be a surreal experience to fight at an iconic Massachusetts venue like Fenway, “this is a huge event, you know, at a historic ballpark. So, you know, it means a lot. I’m probably the first guy from Springfield that’s fighting at this level, you know, in Bare Knuckle. You know, I hope I make my family proud, everyone proud.” A victory against his opponent Dallas Davison could bring Casey one step closer to his ultimate dream: headlining a global fight card, and an opportunity not just to represent his family, but the entire region. Casey said the time away from his wife and kids is all worth it when they can see him standing there in the end, with his arm raised. Copyright 2026 Western Mass News (WGGB/WSHM). All rights reserved.
