Springfield couple cited after two teens left along I-105, police say EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene police cited a Springfield couple after officers said two 16-year-olds were left along Interstate 105 early Friday following a dispute. At about 5:02 a.m. Sept. 4, a caller reported seeing two juveniles along I-105 near Delta Highway attempting to wave down passing vehicles for help, according to the Eugene Police Department (EPD). An officer located the teenagers and learned they were in a dating relationship, police said. According to police, the girl had asked her mother, 43-year-old Alisa Marie Ward, and stepfather, 42-year-old Patrick Barnard Culver, both of Springfield, to pick up the teenagers and take them home. Police said Ward and Culver picked up the teens and were driving on I-105 when a verbal dispute occurred between Culver and the girl's boyfriend. Culver then pulled the vehicle over and told the boy to get out and walk home, according to police. The girl got out of the vehicle and followed him. Officers later contacted Ward and Culver at their home. Both were cited in lieu of custody on a charge of reckless endangering. Reference case No. 26-14184.
