Siena Heights University programs find new homes after closure A Phoenix Committee is overseeing the transfer of 11 academic programs and soliciting proposals for use of the Adrian campus ADRIAN, Mich. (WTVG) - Siena Heights University has finalized agreements to transfer 11 academic programs to partner institutions following the school’s closure at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year. University leadership completed the agreements in June. Three institutions will absorb the programs: - Aquinas College of Grand Rapids, Mich., will develop Criminal Justice (BA), Social Work (BA), and Healthcare Leadership (MA) programs based on Siena Heights offerings. - Barry University of Miami Shores, Fla., will continue the SHU Global programs, including Accounting (BA), Applied Science (BA), Business Administration (BA and MA), Management (BA), Marketing (BA), and Multidisciplinary Studies (BA). - Cleary University of Howell, Mich., will absorb the Siena Heights Nursing program, including Pre-Licensure, RN to BSN, and MSN tracks. Each receiving institution will have access to Siena’s program requirements, course descriptions and learning outcomes, and will be allowed to use the Siena Heights name and logo when promoting the designated programs. A Phoenix Committee overseeing the university’s closure has hired JLL, a global commercial real estate services firm, to solicit proposals for new uses of the Adrian campus and its facilities. Outreach will be conducted locally and nationally. Unused medical supplies from the nursing program have been shipped to Venezuela as earthquake relief aid. Ten bins and boxes containing bandages, gauze, syringes, sterile gloves, trach suctioning kits and other supplies were donated to a Detroit-based group coordinating relief efforts. The Adrian Dominican Sisters contributed funds to help cover transportation costs. Siena Heights completed its closure with a graduating class of 731 students.
