В 1985 году в Элмсвеле был основан клуб для родителей близнецов

Bury Free Press archive: New twins club starts in Elmswell, near Bury St Edmunds, in 1985 Our photographer was seeing double back in 1985 as they were sent to capture a new group for twins. Occasionally, when rummaging through the Bury Free Press archives, we find some great photographs but can’t find a corresponding article. This is the case with these photographs from 1985 - with the negatives labelled simply: ‘New Twins Club Elmswell’. The photos show adults desperately trying to get babies and toddlers to look at the camera for the photographer. Now the twins captured in the images would be in their 40s. A bit of research, using the website of the British National Newspaper Archive, found that in 1988 the West Suffolk Multiple Birth Club was meeting monthly at the Moreton Hall Community Centre, in Bury St Edmunds. In an article published in the Bury Free Press, it said the first meeting of the club was held at Elmswell Village Hall, three years earlier. The club was set up by Sue Palmer five months after she gave birth to twins. We would love to know if you can spot yourself. Let us know by emailing [email protected].
