Гэри Синиз проведет благотворительные концерты в Милуоки в честь памяти своего сына

Gary Sinise, the actor, musician and philanthropist best known for his roles as Lieutenant Dan in “Forrest Gump” and as NASA astronaut Ken Mattingly in “Apollo 13,” recently hosted two benefit concerts at the Skylight Music Theatre in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. The “Graceful Warrior” concerts sold out both nights and featured orchestral music composed by his late son, Mac Sinise, who died from a rare form of spinal cancer in 2024. The music was performed by a 35-piece orchestra, including members of Sinise’s Lt. Dan Band, members of Milwaukee Jazz Orchestra and Skylight singers. As host, Sinise narrated the event by sharing memories of his son and reflections on his music. The event coincided with Sinise’s forthcoming memoir, “Graceful Warrior: The True Story of a Son, a Father, and a Family Who Carried Each Other Through,” set to release Nov. 10. Proceeds from the Graceful Warrior concerts benefited the Skylight Music Theatre “and help ensure that powerful stories continue to be shared through music, fostering connection, inspiration, and community through the performing arts, bringing the Milwaukee community together,” according to the organization’s website. It was not the first time Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band have performed in Milwaukee to raise funds for the Skylight. The group put on “Skylight Rocks: Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band, A concert benefiting Skylight Music Theatre” last July at the Aurora Pavilion at Henry Maier Festival Park. Sinise’s connection with the theater is through its artistic director Michael Unger; the two have known each other since their high school years in Highland Park, Illinois. Sinise, whose advocacy for veterans dates back decades, founded the Gary Sinise Foundation in 2011 to honor and support veterans, wounded service members, families of fallen heroes and first responders. In addition to his role in Forrest Gump,
