Can-Am Defender HD11 получил полуактивную электронную подвеску E-CLIK Active Pro

SDi Brings Semi-Active Suspension to the Defender HD11
Suspension Direct Inc. has released the E-CLIK Active Pro, a semi-active electronic suspension system built for the redesigned 2026 Can-Am Defender HD11. The system replaces the Defender’s fixed-damping factory shocks with four 2.5-inch piggyback shocks that adjust their damping continuously in response to vehicle movement, driver inputs, terrain, and changing operating conditions. Rather than locking the driver into a single suspension setting, the shocks adapt while the machine is being driven.
The setup makes sense on a utility side-by-side that can change roles through a single day. Depending on configuration, the Defender HD11 platform offers up to a 1,500-pound payload capacity and up to 2,500 pounds of towing capacity, and a winch, replacement bumpers, roof rack, spare tire, and cab enclosure can add hundreds of pounds before cargo or passengers even enter the equation. A shock tuned to feel good with an empty bed may allow more pitching or bottoming when heavily loaded, while a firmer setting that controls a load can feel harsh once the bed is empty.
What You Get With the System
Can-Am substantially updated the Defender chassis for 2026. The HD11 uses arched double A-arms at all four corners, a front sway bar, 12 inches of front and rear suspension travel, and 14 inches of ground clearance. That is an inch more travel than the previous HD10, though most HD11 models still rely on relatively basic twin-tube gas-charged shocks with fixed internal damping and no external compression adjustment. Upgrading the shocks does not add travel, but it changes how effectively that travel is used.
The complete E-CLIK Active Pro package combines the four shocks with a high-speed ECU, multiple vehicle inputs, an 8-axis inertial measurement unit, and an in-cab touchscreen controller. The ECU evaluates vehicle movement and driver inputs, then adjusts damping at the shocks as often as 500 times per second. It responds to acceleration and throttle position, braking, steering, pitch, body roll, cornering, chassis movement, and front-to-rear suspension balance. The system cannot see bumps before the vehicle reaches them. Instead it detects what the vehicle and driver are doing and reacts almost immediately, adding damping to control forward pitch under braking or body roll in a corner, then softening for smaller rocks and washboard.
Modes and Fine Tuning
The touchscreen gives access to three primary operating modes. Trail Mode emphasizes compliance and control for technical trails, uneven job sites, rocky terrain, and lower-speed driving. Street Mode provides a balanced setup for stability, load control, and predictable handling on graded roads and pavement. Desert Mode increases damping support and response for higher speeds, larger impacts, and aggressive driving across open terrain. The driver switches modes from the cab without turning adjusters on each shock.
SDi also offers a simpler E-CLIK Switch system for the Defender HD11 that lets the driver choose among Comfort, Sport, and Heavy settings using in-cab rocker switches, with front and rear controlled independently. Active Pro goes further. Beyond selecting a general mode, the touchscreen provides adjustments for front and rear suspension balance, rear load compensation, pitch sensitivity, roll sensitivity, steering and turn sensitivity, throttle sensitivity, and brake sensitivity. Those controls let an owner who regularly hauls bed weight add rear damping support without stiffening the front, or prioritize reduced body roll on winding roads and greater pitch control on steep descents. The system changes damping, not spring rate.
