Scotty McCreery Presents Josh Turner With Five-Times Platinum Award for ‘Your Man’ at Wisconsin Concert Josh Turner got the surprise of his set Friday, Aug. 28, when Scotty McCreery walked onstage during Country In The Burg to honor him with a commemorative plaque marking Your… Josh Turner got the surprise of his set Friday, Aug. 28, when Scotty McCreery walked onstage during Country In The Burg to honor him with a commemorative plaque marking Your Man's title track as officially certified five-times platinum by the RIAA, recognizing more than 5 million units sold. "Did you know Mr. Josh Turner, ‘Your Man,' has been certified five times Platinum?" McCreery announced. He then brought out a large framed display featuring multiple platinum records alongside the album's cover art. "I gotta look at it first. Hold on, I don't recognize that guy. He's a lot younger than me," Turner joked about the photo. The moment carried extra weight given the pair's history. Fifteen years earlier, Turner surprised a then-rising McCreery at his 2011 American Idol hometown episode, joining him for a rendition of "Your Man," the very song McCreery had performed during his original audition, held just down the road from Friday's festival. Your Man was Turner's second studio album, released in January 2006. It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and climbed to No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart. The title track gave Turner his first No. 1 single, was co-written by Chris Stapleton, Chris DuBois, and Jace Everett. The song earned two GRAMMY nominations. Other tracks from the album also picked up new certifications: "Would You Go With Me" reached four-times platinum, and "Me and God" earned gold. The celebration coincides with the album's 20th anniversary, marked by an expanded edition featuring the bonus track "Hard Headed," originally a 2006 exclusive, along with additional live recordings. It also follows a broader revival of the Turner-McCreery collaboration, including an officially released new version of "Your Man" featuring both artists in May 2026. Turner called the tribute surreal and thanked fans for two decades of support.
