В Чандигархе урегулирован многолетний спор о парковке между школой и жителями

Chandigarh Administration lauded for cooperation in resolving civic issue Chandigarh: A long-standing parking dispute between the management of Guru Nanak Khalsa Senior Secondary School in Sector 30-B and nearby residents has been resolved, following mediation by senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon. Tandon met with representatives of the school management and residents at the school premises to discuss the issue and work out a solution acceptable to both sides. The talks, held in coordination with the Chandigarh Administration, resulted in an agreement designed to balance the safety of schoolchildren with the parking needs of the neighbourhood. Under the new arrangement, the school will have a designated area for the safe and orderly boarding and deboarding of students during school hours. In exchange, residents have agreed to stop parking in the area situated between the school and the residential boundary, shifting instead to alternative parking spaces nearby. Speaking after the meeting, Tandon said that addressing issues of public convenience remains one of his key priorities. "Understanding the problems faced by citizens, effectively raising them before the concerned authorities and making sustained efforts towards their resolution is our collective responsibility," he said. He also thanked the Chandigarh Administration for its cooperation, saying the goal was to ensure citizens get better facilities and that everyday problems are resolved without delay. Both the residents and the school management thanked Tandon for taking up the matter with the administration and steering it toward resolution. Tandon added that civic issues require coordinated efforts from all stakeholders, not the administration alone. "It is a shared responsibility of all those committed to the welfare of society. We will continue to work together to make Chandigarh a more convenient, organised and citizen-friendly city," he said. He also acknowledged the school management for hosting and supporting the meeting, naming Gurvinder Singh (senior member, Management Committee), Inderjit Kaur (Vice Principal), and Amrit Pal (Manager) for their cooperation. Among those present at the meeting were BJP spokesperson Naresh Arora, Rajinder Kaur Rattu, Inderjit "Kala," Gaurav "Lucky," Mandal President Ravi Rawat, and other prominent party members.
