В Салеме завершается строительство второго корпуса жилого комплекса Valleydale Apartments

Salem’s Valleydale Apartments expansion continues with second building under construction SALEM, Va. (WDBJ) — Valleydale Apartments, an apartment complex in Salem, has a second building nearing completion, with a third building to follow, according to city officials. The complex began as a project a few years ago, according to the report. The first building filled with tenants quickly after opening. Tommy Miller, Salem’s Director of Economic Development, said the project supports the city’s economic development goals. “We really see this is going to help as a competitive edge when we promote just not Salem, but the region as a whole, for other businesses that are here to grow and expand, but also entice new investment into Salem and the Roanoke region,” Miller said. Miller said the project also addresses housing needs in the area. “The big thing is it shows that Salem and the Roanoke region are growing, and there’s people taking interest. And we’re excited to provide new housing opportunities,” Miller said. Property Manager Sonja Crews said the first building leased faster than expected. “We did lease this building rather quickly. So, we’re looking forward to having some more beautiful apartments for the community,” Crews said. Miller said the property’s location is a factor in demand. “The folks that are going to be moving here are going to have great opportunities of what will grow and blossom here...and a short distance to downtown, take advantage of all those amenities as well,” Miller said. Miller said building two could be completed within the next six months. City of Salem employees receive a discount on rent at the property. Copyright 2026 WDBJ. All rights reserved.
