В Брэндтонском округе пятивосьмилетние ученики получили значки за службу в патруле безопасности

Rowlett Elementary safety patrol students honored at pinning ceremony BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) - Fifth graders at Rowlett Elementary Academy in Manatee County were honored Wednesday during a pinning ceremony recognizing their service on the school’s safety patrol. Manatee County Sheriff Rick Wells attended the ceremony and pinned each patrol member individually, marking their commitment to the role. Safety patrol members direct students as they enter and exit campus each day, ensuring cars stop and students cross safely. Student Clayton Carroll said the role goes beyond traffic direction. “Learning responsibility and leadership, but you also are like you’re teaching kids where they go and what to do,” Carroll said. Wellen Park High School: North Port or Venice? Principal Scott Flynn said the program reflects a broader philosophy at the school. “Leadership is something that is earned by age or by title. We think that everybody can be a leader and it’s an all responsibility to help provide leadership skills to students from K through five so that they are able to be successful adults in the future,” Flynn said. Sheriff Wells echoed that message at the ceremony. “It’s a huge responsibility — they learn the values of safety and making sure others are taken care of,” Wells said. Students described what the pin means to them, saying it makes them feel like leaders and that they take seriously their responsibility to keep students from kindergarten through fifth grade safe.
