Ушел из жизни ветеран Вьетнама и инженер Рон Фригстад, прослуживший в армии пилотом вертолета

Ronald Frigstad Ron Frigstad was a strong-minded, intelligent man who valued his independence and privacy. He passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026. Ron was born on February 2, 1944, in Devils Lake, North Dakota. Raised in Grand Forks with his sister Kim by his parents, Kenneth and Elaine Frigstad, he attended Central High and UND, forming lifelong friendships with several classmates. Ron enjoyed tinkering with all things mechanical and went on to become an engineer. His view of life was greatly influenced by his service in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot who rescued the wounded from the battlefield and took part  in other harrowing missions. He received the Bronze Star along with several other medals for bravery and was honorably discharged. After completing his service, he spent a year growing out his hair and riding his bike around the U.S., reclaiming his sense of freedom and peace. Ron gravitated toward a solitary existence, finding joy in his homes in Fargo and Chanhassen. He loved spending time in nature, cheering for his favorite football and Minnesota high school hockey teams, and annually pursuing the Winter Carnival Medallion. He also enjoyed collecting guns and antiques, showcasing his antique farm equipment in Rollag, Minnesota. Ron had a big heart and found his greatest pleasure in helping others in need. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Elaine Frigstad, and birth parents, Colin Lund and Ellie Paterson. He is survived by his sisters, Kim Frigstad of Edina, Minnesota, and  Dianne Henson of Moultrie, Georgia. There will be a celebration of Ron’s life in Grand Forks for friends and family. Details will be announced later.
