Рэйн Садден выразила сочувствие Тесс Дэйли из-за скандала с Верноном Кеем

Rhian Sugden says 'it must be awful' as she sympathises with Tess Daly over Vernon scandal Former Page 3 model Rhian Sugden has said she wants to put her sexting scandal with Vernon Kay behind her, as she opened up about the damage it caused Content Editor Rhian Sugden has expressed sympathy for Vernon Kay's family over their sexting scandal. In 2010, it was revealed that the former Page 3 model and Vernon had been exchanging explicit messages, while he was still with his wife Tess Daly. ‌ Six years later, the BBC Radio 2 presenter reached out to Rhian again in an apparent bid to seek answers about their previous exchanges. Speaking to The Sun at the time, he said Tess was aware of their renewed exchanges and insisted "there was never any inappropriate intent to our communication." ‌ A decade on from their latest exchange, the 40-year-old said she is keen to put the scandal behind her once and for all. The scrutiny surrounding her decision to revisit the controversy has partly prompted her to put plans for an autobiography on hold. ‌ She told Closer Magazine: "I know what everyone's expecting - that there's some sordid affair that I've got to reveal when that isn't true whatsoever. There's been so much backlash against me, I've struggled to deal with it all mentally." Rhian said the scandal coming to light again is "not fair" on Tess or their daughters Phoebe and Amber. ‌ "It must be awful," she shared. "At their age they don't want to be reading about this anymore and I don't want to do anything that would hurt anyone." Around the time news of their texts broke, Rhian said she could barely leave her house due to the abuse she encountered. "I've been spat at in the face and had my car windscreen smashed," she revealed. "It was hell back then and I was scared to go out at one point." ‌ Rhian was thought to be one of several women Vernon had exchanged messages with at the time, and he later issued an apology live on BBC Radio 1. He said: "Now this week you may or may not be aware that because of some foolish and stupid decisions I have made, I have disappointed and I have let down a lot of people. To my family and everybody, I am very sorry." Vernon and Tess eventually moved on from the scandal, with their marriage lasting another 16 years until this year. ‌ In a surprising statement fans didn't see coming, they announced in May: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably "This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us." There are no other parties involved in this decision. We kindly ask for privacy during this time. We will not be making any further public comments." Since their split, they have remained good friends, having recently enjoyed a holiday with their daughters together. As for Rhian, she has been married to Coronation Street actor Oliver Mellor since 2018, and together they share a two-year-old son.
