REGENT Craft Raises $240M to Scale Maritime Mobility Production
REGENT Craft has raised $240 million as the maritime mobility company prepares to transition from development into production. The round was co-led by Mare Liberum and AE Ventures, with participation from DCVC, Founders Fund, Caffeinated Capital, Lockheed Martin Ventures, Japan Airlines and other investors.
Erebor Bank, co-founded by Palmer Luckey, provided half of the debt financing. The latest investment brings REGENT’s total funding to more than $340 million. The company will use the capital to expand manufacturing, complete certification milestones and prepare customer deliveries.
REGENT Targets Commercial Seaglider Production
REGENT is developing all-electric Seagliders that combine characteristics of boats, hydrofoils and aircraft. Its vessels operate on the water before using retractable hydrofoils and wings to travel just above the surface.
The company’s flagship Viceroy model is designed to reach speeds of up to 180 miles per hour. It is intended to carry passengers and cargo across regional maritime routes while providing an alternative to conventional ferries and short-haul aircraft.
REGENT has secured more than $9 billion in reported pre-orders from airlines and ferry operators across six continents. Its commercial pipeline includes operators exploring Seagliders for faster coastal transportation. The company recently completed a 255,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Rhode Island.
Defence Business Drives Expansion
REGENT has increasingly expanded beyond commercial transportation into defence applications. The company created REGENT Defence to develop maritime systems for military customers. Its Squire platform is an autonomous Seaglider designed for defence missions. The company has also expanded its work with the U.S.
Marine Corps through a contract now valued at $15 million. REGENT is developing additional European opportunities as maritime security becomes a growing priority. Poland’s Balnord is supporting the company’s expansion across the Baltic region and Northern Europe.
The company has also established a partnership with Abu Dhabi’s Strategic Development Fund. The agreement is intended to support Seaglider operations and manufacturing in the United Arab Emirates. The new funding arrives ahead of several important milestones for REGENT.

REGENT Prepares for First Human Flight
Until now, REGENT’s vessels have remained in testing and development without passengers onboard. The upcoming flight is expected to provide an important demonstration of the technology before wider certification efforts.
“This investment marks a critical inflection point for REGENT as we move from development into production,” said Billy Thalheimer, co-founder and CEO of REGENT Craft. He added that the financing will help scale manufacturing, achieve certification milestones and deliver Seagliders to customers.
The company’s investors believe REGENT can address emerging needs across maritime transportation and defence. Mare Liberum said the technology could provide greater speed, reach and flexibility as maritime defence requirements evolve.
REGENT’s approach also differs from conventional electric aircraft because its Seagliders operate over water under maritime rules. The company believes this can simplify parts of the certification process compared with aircraft entering controlled airspace.
The Series B gives REGENT significantly more capital to bridge the gap between prototypes and commercial production. Its ability to complete the Viceroy’s first fully loaded flight, secure certification and establish reliable manufacturing will determine whether its large commercial and defence pipeline can translate into deployed vessels.
