Фонд Нельсона Манделы вручил награду лучшим молодым лидерам ЮАР

The Nelson Mandela Foundation joined the Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans celebration, recognising a new generation of South Africans whose work is contributing to the country’s future. Now an established platform for recognising emerging leaders, the annual initiative celebrates young people making an impact across fields including business, education, civil society, governance, health, law, media, science, the arts, sport and the environment. The 2026 edition carries the theme “Honouring the legacy, shaping tomorrow”, connecting the achievements of today’s young leaders with the enduring legacy of youth activism and leadership in South Africa. Representing the Nelson Mandela Foundation at the celebration, Acting Head of Marketing and Communications Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile presented the Editor’s Choice Award, sponsored by the Foundation. The award recognises young changemakers whose leadership, public service and locally driven solutions speak to the kind of active citizenship and purposeful leadership that Nelson Mandela championed. The Foundation’s participation reflects its continued commitment to supporting and recognising young people as important contributors to South Africa’s democratic future. From community initiatives and public service to innovation, culture and entrepreneurship, the 200 Young South Africans recognised this year demonstrate the many ways young South Africans are shaping the country they want to live in.
