Pullinam Aerospace Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has signed a Binding Letter of Intent (LOI) with Skyworks Aviation International for the acquisition of 100 PAT-LSA01 aircraft, in what could become a significant commercial milestone for the Indian aerospace startup. The proposed transaction has an estimated value of approximately ₹175–200 crore, according to the company.
The LOI was signed during the National Aerospace & Aviation Startup Conclave in Coimbatore, organised by the Indian Association of Aeronautical and Aviation (IAAA) in partnership with StartupTN, Government of Tamil Nadu, and hosted by Nehru Institute of Technology (Autonomous).
The agreement follows several months of technical evaluation, commercial discussions and negotiations between Pullinam Aerospace and Skyworks Aviation International. The 100-aircraft commitment provides an important potential customer base for the PAT-LSA01 and could help the company move toward larger-scale production and commercialisation.
The development is also notable because the PAT-LSA01 is being positioned for applications spanning both civil and defence aviation. Pullinam Aerospace has separately received a Letter of Intent from the Indian Army Aviation wing’s CAATS, Nashik, providing an additional potential pathway for the aircraft into India’s military aviation ecosystem.
The combination of commercial and defence interest could prove important for an emerging aerospace manufacturer. A larger production run can help reduce per-aircraft manufacturing costs, establish a domestic supplier ecosystem and provide operational experience that can subsequently support military variants and specialised configurations.
For India’s aerospace industry, the development reflects the increasing participation of domestic startups in the light aircraft segment. While India has traditionally depended heavily on established manufacturers for military and civilian aircraft, a growing ecosystem of private aerospace companies is now attempting to develop indigenous platforms for training, utility, surveillance and other specialised missions.
The proposed 100-aircraft transaction is still based on a Binding LOI rather than a completed aircraft purchase contract, meaning final commercial terms, production schedules, certification requirements and deliveries will determine the ultimate value of the agreement. Nevertheless, the scale of the proposed commitment represents a significant vote of confidence in the PAT-LSA01 platform.
The parallel interest from the Indian Army Aviation ecosystem could further expand the aircraft’s potential market. If the platform successfully completes the necessary technical and regulatory evaluations, it could potentially serve a range of roles in the light aviation and military-training sectors.
