Британская Колумбия продлила отпуск для военных резервистов до 24 месяцев

Province extends training leave for military reservists at Victoria announcement Published 12:45 pm Friday, September 4, 2026 The province says new extended training leave for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) reservists will improve recruitment and keep reservists’ civilian jobs safe. At an announcement at HMCS Malahat, the navy reserves training building in Victoria, on Friday, Sept. 4, CAF leaders and provincial representatives announced the expansion that allows reservists to take a combined leave of up to 24 months in a 60-month period for training. “Whether responding to emergencies here at home, undertaking the training required to remain operationally ready, or deploying overseas, reservists make an extraordinary commitment to our country and our province. That commitment deserves more than our gratitude. It deserves practical support,” said Darlene Rotchford, local MLA and parliamentary secretary for armed forces development and veterans affairs. Previously, the entitlement to leave for training was a maximum of 20 days annually. Deployments in Canada related to national emergencies, like wildfire response, will continue to be exempt from the 24-month limit. “One of the Reserve Force’s greatest strengths is its flexibility. Our members are engineers, software developers, tradespeople, teachers, healthcare professionals, first responders, entrepreneurs, public servants, and community leaders. Reserve service allows Canadians to serve their country while pursuing their education, developing those civilian careers, raising families, and contributing to their local communities,” said BGen. Paul Ursich, deputy commander of the 3rd Canadian Division. B.C. is home to about 3,000 reservists who support operations both at home and abroad.
