Пастор призвал христиан сочетать молитву и пост с активной работой для достижения целей

Christians have been urged to complement their fasting and prayer with hard work and purposeful action if they desire to achieve meaningful results in their daily lives. The founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church, Apostle John Okoriko, gave the advice while speaking during the monthly interactive service at Life Tabernacle, Eket, Akwa Ibom state, on the theme: “Why Prayer and Fasting Fail.” Okoriko said prayers and fasting alone could not guarantee desired results when Christians failed to translate their spiritual commitments into concrete action. He said many prayers remain unanswered because believers often “walk away from action” after praying, relying solely on divine intervention without making the necessary human effort to accomplish their objectives. He identified unbelief and continuous begging instead of thanking God in faith, fasting motivated by revenge against perceived enemies, and failure to transform prayers into action as some of the reasons prayers and fasting could become ineffective. The cleric, who recently concluded a long fasting and prayer conference with members and visitors at his church, stated that fasting could also fail when it was not undertaken in accordance with God’s ordinances. He said: “Fasting can fail if Christians cannot act on what they pray and fast for. You must act on something you are praying for so that God can make it come to fruition and make it permanent.” Using financial prosperity as an example, Okoriko said anyone praying to become a millionaire must be prepared to work legitimately towards achieving the goal. “If you pray to become a millionaire, you must act like one and also do legitimate work that will bring the money envisaged,” he said. He urged Christians not to fold their arms and wait for miracles without taking responsibility for their own efforts, adding that divine intervention often works in partnership with human endeavour.
