Powerful, uplifting one-man show on Penticton stage Powerful one-man show Many Hats Theatre in Penticton is putting on a solo show to remember with an uplifting message. The company is known for its crowd favourites, delighting audiences for 19 years. Lately, they have been branching into new territory with unique theatrical experiences. Last year, that was a traditional British pantomime, encouraging audience participation in the raucous fun. This year they are showcasing a one-person show. "Every Brilliant Thing" is currently running on the Cannery Stage, featuring actor Vance Potter leading the audience through "a powerful and uplifting look at one person’s attempt to document all the wonderful, beautiful, and indeed brilliant things, big, small and everything in between that make life worth living," as Many Hats describes it. The show follows a young boy trying to help his mother see how and why life is worth living, while also growing up through his own life. It has been performed in over 80 countries, including on Broadway in New York City, earning actor Daniel Radcliffe a Tony Award nomination. "While this production deals with deeply vulnerable topics of mental health, the play is celebrated for being heartwarming, humorous, and ultimately uplifting," explains Many Hats. "It emphasizes the importance of community, communication and human connection which we all appreciate even more after the recent Bald Range fire." Every Brilliant Thing runs from Sept. 11 to Oct. 4.
