В сентябре в Портленде стартует фестиваль Staycation с акциями отелей и городских мероприятий

Portland Staycation Returns In September With Downtown Hotel Deals, Events And Local Discounts Portlanders looking for a reason to spend a weekend exploring their own city will have another opportunity this fall, when Portland Staycation returns Sept. 11-13 with discounted hotel stays, dining deals, entertainment and other downtown experiences. The three-day event is designed to encourage Portland-area residents to book an overnight stay and experience downtown as tourists. Organizers say more than 100 businesses and attractions will participate, with 23 downtown hotels offering special rates and packages. Residents can RSVP here to receive a virtual “Local’s Pass,” which provides access to participating businesses’ discounts, special menus and other offers. This year’s weekend lineup includes a Portland Thorns match, live music, theater, dining and Downtown Sunday Parkways, which will feature two miles of car-free streets with vendors and activities for all ages. Organizers are also emphasizing a downtown-focused itinerary this year, citing the potential for traffic impacts related to the I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project. “Downtown foot traffic has been steadily increasing,” Portland Mayor Keith Wilson said in a statement. “Creative events and cultural activations have played a big part in renewing the city’s vibrancy and bringing crowds of locals and visitors to downtown.” Wilson said the weekend would help support downtown businesses while giving Portlanders an opportunity to experience the city’s central core.
