В Теннесси отметили 100-летие исторической школы Полк-Кларк

SELMER, Tenn. (WBBJ) -One Gibson County landmark celebrates a century of education, community and changing lives. The Polk-Clark High School formerly the Gibson Co. Training school marks 100 years of history. Saturday, the community united as former students, residents and leaders to celebrate the milestone. There was a parade, and a band concert to recognize the lasting impact the school has left on the Milan community. The school first opened in 1926 serving as an elementary and high school for students before eventually closing its door in 1995. “The great thing, it brings out our community for celebration and you know, we have an amazing community and they come out for events like that to celebrate, and so when they approached me and said we were going to do this several months ago, everyone got excited about it. So this is just going to be an amazing day for Milan, Tennessee,” said Mayor BW Beasley. The building now serves as a community center for Milan.
