Plumb to lead Hearing Australia
Experienced senior executive Eron Plumb will start in his role as managing director of the hearing health service on 1 September.
Eron Plumb has been appointed as the incoming managing director of Hearing Australia, due to commence a five-year term on 1 September.
Mr Plumb brings more than 35 years’ experience leading, scaling and transforming large customer-focused organisations across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. He said he is “honoured” to have the opportunity to lead the hearing health service.
Mr Plumb said Hearing Australia has “an extraordinary legacy” and an important role in helping Australians “stay connected to the people, places and communities that matter most.”
“Hearing Australia has such a clear purpose and I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with an experienced and dedicated team, building on the organisation’s strengths, and continuing to improve outcomes for our clients while supporting our next generation research,” he said.
Mr Plumb has held senior executive roles across several health, retail and service-based organisations, most recently as chief executive officer and managing director of funeral services provider InvoCare.
He also spent more than a decade as CEO and managing director of allied health retail and wholesale business Bay Audio Group.
Hearing Australia chair Elizabeth Crouch said Mr Plumb’s experience leading large, customer-centred organisations will add “enormous value” to Hearing Australia.
“His strong focus on people, performance and customer outcomes will be invaluable as Hearing Australia seeks to expand its impact and deliver high-quality services for Australians living with a hearing loss,” Ms Crouch said.
Ms Crouch also thanked retiring managing director Kim Terrell for his leadership and contribution over the eight and a half years he led Hearing Australia, including through a period of significant growth, innovation and organisational renewal.
“He strengthened the organisation’s strategic direction, culture and financial performance while maintaining an unwavering focus on improving hearing outcomes for Australians. His leadership has left the organisation financially strong, operationally resilient and well positioned for the future while remaining true to its social purpose of supporting Australians with hearing loss,” said Ms Crouch.
