In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the healthcare company said the higher net profit was attributable to RM7 million in realised interest savings following the partial repayment of borrowings, supported by effective inventory management. Revenue also increased to RM1.04 billion for the quarter under review from RM926.86 million in the corresponding quarter in 2025, driven by higher order volumes from government hospitals under the Approved Products Purchase List and increased sales from the private segment. For the first half (H1) of 2026, net profit rose to RM43.96 million from RM33.54 million a year earlier, while revenue increased to RM2.22 billion from RM1.98 billion. On prospects, Pharmaniaga said it remains focussed on strengthening operational excellence, enhancing its product portfolio and delivering quality healthcare products and solutions to meet the evolving needs of the nation, following its upliftment from Practice Note 17 (PN17) status on March 17. “The biopharmaceutical segment continues to progress as one of the group’s strategic growth pillars. During the quarter, Pharmaniaga secured its first major Human Insulin supply contract valued at RM281.7 million over three years, marking a significant milestone in the commercialisation of its biopharmaceutical business. “The contract is expected to contribute meaningfully to the group’s financial performance beginning in H2 2026,” it said. Moving forward, Pharmaniaga said it remains focussed on executing its strategic priorities under Vision ONE30 by accelerating the commercialisation of its biopharmaceutical portfolio, strengthening its pharmaceutical and logistics businesses, and expanding its regional footprint. “Supported by its growing product pipeline and operational initiatives, the group is well positioned to capture future growth opportunities while creating sustainable value for shareholders,” it said. Pharmaniaga also declared an interim dividend of 48 sen per share, payable on Oct 13.
