Sydney-based pest management company Pest2Kill has acquired South Sydney Pest Control, its second acquisition in less than 12 months. South Sydney Pest Control officially joined Pest2Kill on August 3 and will continue to operate under its existing brand, with all administrative and field staff joining the broader Pest2Kill team. It follows Pest2Kill’s acquisition of Impact Pest Control in November 2025. Pest2Kill was founded by directors Phil Taylor and Julian Bracewell in 2015 and the business is unlocking new growth as it expands across Greater Sydney by bolting on other established independent pest management businesses. Pest2Kill, which made the 2025 Smart50 list and was a finalist in the Smart50 Marketing, Community Hero and People Power categories, is on track to generate around $6 million in revenue by the end of the current financial year. The business has 34 employees following the latest acquisition, and services more than 22,000 residential and commercial clients, offering a full suite of specialist pest management services. CEO Taylor says the acquisition of South Sydney Pest Control reflects the company’s long-term vision of building Australia’s leading independently owned pest management group by partnering with businesses that share its values. “This acquisition is another important step in our long-term strategy of bringing together exceptional pest management businesses under the Pest2Kill banner,” he says. Jason and Rhonda Simpson, who established South Sydney Pest Control in 2001, say they are excited to see the business continue to thrive and joining the Pest2Kill Group gives it access to greater resources, innovation and expertise. Taylor told SmartCompany he believes Pest2Kill is yet to scratch the surface of the Sydney pest control market. “We turned our attention towards these acquisitions because it just fitted in,” he says. “There’s a lot of people in our industry who are coming up to retirement age. So a lot of these businesses they’re maybe looking for an exit, but during that period they’ve built up really solid, dependable, repeatable businesses with really solid customer bases, so we’ve kind of looked at that as part of our strategy.” Taylor says half of Pest2Kill’s growth is coming from organic and half is coming from acquisitions, and it is a strategy that is working. “I think what underpins that is retention of your customers and your staff. Really, you can’t build and grow if you’re not keeping what you’ve already got. I’ve always been really big on that.” While Pest2Kill is very much focused on Sydney for the near future, Taylor says the business will likely venture further afield in the coming years. “I think for our medium-term goals we’ll start to look at the wider national network. Probably starting with the large capitals, Melbourne and Brisbane,” he says. “I think we’ll start to maybe look at expanding nationally and be able to improve our service offerings and also look to take on those kinds of larger clients that do need that national capability as well.” “Things change very rapidly in this business, and I probably wouldn’t have been considering that a couple of years ago. But this acquisition, our first one in November, has gone very well. So if that’s anything to go by, then this is a good strategy for us.
