В Александрии прошел симпозиум фонда Rapides о путях успеха в образовании

‘Pathways to Success’: Rapides Foundation’s 2026 Symposium ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - On Thursday, September 3, the Rapides Foundation held their annual Symposium at the Randolph Riverfront Center in downtown Alexandria. This year’s topic was ‘Pathways to Success’ and was centered around informing the community on ways to help schools thrive and create pathways for future careers. The event featured world-renowned educator Geoffrey Canada as a guest speaker. Canada is known for the Harlem Children’s Zone, which began in the 1990s as a one-block initiative, but now serves over 10,000 students in Central Harlem. Canada also recently came out of retirement and founded the William Julius Wilson Institute which is dedicated to battling issues of poverty and inequality. We asked Canada how he would go about solving problems at schools with limited resources. " When you have small schools, it’s hard sometimes to bring in the kind of talent to teach those advanced classes," said Canada. So we’ve got to be creative. We’ve got to be ingenious. We’ve got to go and not allow the problems to stop us from coming up with solutions." Click here to report a typo. Please provide the title of the article in your email. Copyright 2026 KALB.
