Родители Reddit обсуждают самые безумные места, где дети прячут ключи

Ask any parent who’s raising toddlers and they’ll tell you, life with a 1-to-3 year old is never, ever dull. From epic meltdowns to adorable bedtime routines, toddlers are the cutest little people … who also cause the most chaos. This week in the r/Parenting subreddit, a Reddit user shared a funny story about why it was “not a great day in [their] household.” Redditor u/Patrick5595 turned to other moms and dads on Reddit for some help finding his wife’s keys. “Our toddler (19 months) took my wife’s keys and hid them somewhere in the house,” he wrote. “In your experiences, where on earth is the kids’ favorite hiding spot? We’ve found silverware in different drawers, shoes in the sink, but the keys are…?” Past and present toddler parents were quick to jump in with some pretty funny answers about where their own toddlers liked to hide things. “I made a post like this once,” said one. “They were in the ignition of a ride-on toy car.” Another offered, “My sister lost her keys one year in early spring and couldn’t find them and finally got new ones made, then found them in the fall because her toddler had put them in her husband’s snow boots, which then got put away and not thought of again for six months.” “Mine are always hiding things in my handbag,” one parent shared. “Like I’ll go out to lunch with my coworkers and pull out my purse to pay and out comes two hot wheels cars, a crayon, a Bluey figurine, what was once a wet wipe, and a piece of paper that simply says ‘fart.’” Other suggested hiding places included the freezer, a bag of potatoes, kitchen cabinets, play kitchens, and even the toilet bowl. And, some parents offered great suggestions for helping prevent the loss to begin with, like putting an AirTag tracker on the key ring or buying the toddler their own set of real keys to play with. Still, the stories shared by other parents of things lost by their toddler then found months later were pretty hilarious. “I once found my Kindle in the window box of my apartment,” said one parent. “My daughter wrapped my keys in tissue paper, put them inside a small box, put that inside an empty shoe box, and put that inside a suitcase,” another commented. “And then completely forgot what she had done with them. She also wrapped up my husband’s hearing aids and put them inside a boot. In a closet. In the basement.” Although there were lots of good suggestions for hiding spots in the comments on the thread, u/Patrick5595’s keys weren’t in any of the spots mentioned. He did find them eventually, though, and shared what had happened with his new redditor friends. “Update,” he wrote, “my son threw the keys off the deck into a large patch of ornamental grass. Thank you all for your suggestions.”
