P1 Wraps delivers sustainable livery for King’s College London’s EV fleet Mark Salisbury Filed under: Manufacturer News, News, Newsletter, Vehicle Branding, Vehicle Wrapping Bognor Regis-based vehicle branding specialist P1 Wraps has completed a six-vehicle full-wrap project for King’s College London, using an entirely non-PVC 3M Envision graphics system chosen to align with the environmental credentials of the university’s new electric van fleet. The project was completed in June 2026 and arrived at P1 Wraps via Wessex Fleet, which was supplying the newly leased vehicles to King’s College London. Five brand-new electric Ford Transit Customs arrived together at P1 Wraps’ Bognor Regis headquarters, with a larger electric Ford Transit following shortly afterwards. Sustainability was central to the brief. King’s College London wanted the vehicle graphics specification to reflect the same environmental thinking behind operating an electric fleet, rather than treating the livery as a separate, purely cosmetic exercise. To meet that requirement, P1 Wraps recommended a complete non-PVC print-film and overlaminate system, pairing 3M Envision Print Wrap Film LX480mC with 3M Envision Gloss Wrap Overlaminate 8548G. The original livery design came from Day 1 Communications, with the artwork supplied to P1 Wraps directly by King’s College London. From there, P1 Wraps adapted the supplied creative for production across the five Transit Customs and translated the same visual identity onto the larger Ford Transit, ensuring a consistent look across the whole fleet regardless of vehicle size or shape. Production was handled entirely in-house. P1 Wraps prepared the production files and printed the large-format graphics on its own HP Latex equipment at its Bognor Regis headquarters. All six vehicles were then fully wrapped, with large printed panels installed across the exterior bodywork to create the finished King’s College London liveries. Once complete, the vehicles were collected by Wessex Fleet and transported individually to King’s College London, where they now support the university’s Estates & Facilities operation across its London campuses. The project was P1 Wraps’ first collaboration with Wessex Fleet and reflects the company’s growing focus on commercial vehicle branding and fleet graphics. Angus Waddell, founder of P1 Wraps, said the material choice was a deliberate response to the client’s environmental priorities: “King’s wanted the graphics to reflect the same environmental thinking behind running an electric fleet, so material choice was an important part of the project. I’ve worked with 3M Envision on a number of projects over the years, so it was a system we were confident recommending and producing in-house.” He also praised the new working relationship with Wessex Fleet: “It was also our first project with Wessex Fleet and they were fantastic to deal with from start to finish. We’re extremely pleased with how the completed fleet turned out and hopefully this will be the first of many projects we work on together.” P1 Wraps is an independent vehicle branding and wrapping specialist based in Bognor Regis, West Sussex. Founder Angus Waddell brings around 18 years of experience in vehicle graphics and wrapping to the business, which he launched in July 2020 as a side venture while still working full-time elsewhere in the vehicle branding industry. The operation grew organically over time before becoming his sole focus, and the business entered a major growth phase after moving into its dedicated Bognor Regis premises in January 2025. The company specialises in commercial vehicle branding, fleet graphics and bespoke vehicle wraps, offering design, artwork preparation, large-format printing, plotting, production and installation entirely in-house. This end-to-end capability allows P1 Wraps to manage vehicle branding projects from initial artwork through to finished installation without relying on external suppliers, giving clients tighter control over quality, turnaround and consistency across a fleet. That in-house model proved particularly valuable on the King’s College London project, where consistency across six vehicles of two different sizes, combined with a specific sustainability-led material specification, required close coordination between design adaptation, print production and installation. Handling every stage under one roof meant P1 Wraps could adjust the artwork for each vehicle format while keeping the finished liveries visually aligned. The choice of a non-PVC film and overlaminate system is increasingly relevant for organisations looking to match their vehicle branding to broader sustainability commitments. As more fleets transition to electric vehicles, the materials used in signage and livery are coming under similar scrutiny, and projects like this one for King’s College London illustrate how vehicle wrap specifications can be adapted to support wider environmental goals rather than working against them. P1 Wraps is continuing to expand its fleet-branding operation and is building relationships across a range of commercial sectors, including automotive retail, fleet management, care, facilities and utilities. The King’s College London project adds to a growing portfolio of fleet and commercial vehicle work for the company, and the new relationship with Wessex Fleet opens the door to further collaboration on future vehicle leasing and branding projects. For organisations weighing up vehicle branding options alongside a move to electric or otherwise lower-emission fleets, the King’s College London project offers a practical example of how livery specification, not just vehicle choice, can be brought into line with sustainability objectives, without compromising on visual impact or production quality. 3M Envision commercial vehicle branding fleet graphics King’s College London non-PVC vinyl wrap P1 Wraps vehicle wrapping
