Научные исследования раскрывают механизмы интеграции и устойчивого развития в регионе Голубой бухты

Notes on academic studies Deconstructing Order and Emergence in Spatial Cluster and Evolution of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Using Percolation Theory Author(s): Yuting Zhang, Xiaolei Zhang, Xia Li, Xiaohua Tong, Xiaoping Liu, Yong Ge, Wenlong Li, and Richard K. Zimmermann Publication: Cities (2026) Summary: This study applies percolation theory to examine how the GBA has evolved from a collection of individual cities into an increasingly interconnected urban region. By analyzing population distribution and built-up areas over four decades, the researchers found that urban development has followed different patterns: while population growth remains concentrated around major cities such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen, physical urban expansion has become more polycentric. The paper argues that these contrasting dynamics reveal a more complex process of regional integration than previously understood. Its findings offer policymakers a scientific framework for planning future transport networks, land use and sustainable urban development across one of the world’s fastest-growing metropolitan regions. Equilibrium Dynamics in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area: Synergistic Analysis of Energy, Economy, and Environment Author(s): Xiaolin Wang, Wenjun Zhang, and colleagues Publication: City and Environment Interactions (2026) Summary: Focusing on sustainable development, this paper evaluates the interaction between energy consumption, economic growth and environmental performance across 52 counties in the GBA between 2002 and 2022. Using a newly developed “4E” analytical framework, the authors conclude that the region has made steady progress toward balanced development, although significant disparities remain between the eastern and western parts of the bay area. The research highlights the importance of coordinated policies that simultaneously promote economic expansion, energy efficiency and environmental protection. It provides valuable evidence for governments seeking to achieve China’s carbon-neutrality objectives while maintaining the GBA’s position as a leading economic powerhouse. Legal Coordination and Governance Approaches for Transboundary Water Resources Management in the Greater Bay Area Author(s): Jingwen Wu, Xuewen Zheng, and colleagues Publication: Discover Environment (2026) Summary: As the GBA becomes increasingly integrated, managing shared water resources has emerged as a major governance challenge. This paper examines how Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau can improve cross-border water management despite operating under different legal and regulatory systems. The authors identify existing institutional gaps and propose stronger legal coordination, harmonized regulations and joint governance mechanisms to improve water security and environmental sustainability. The study argues that effective transboundary management will become increasingly important as climate change, rapid urbanization and industrial development place greater pressure on the region’s rivers, reservoirs and coastal ecosystems. Infrastructuring Mobilities in the Greater Bay Area: The Rise of Infrastructural Regionalism at the Conjuncture of Polycrisis Author(s): Jiang Xu and Tim Bunnell Publication: International Journal of Urban Sciences (2026) Summary: This paper argues that transport infrastructure has become one of the principal forces shaping regional integration in the GBA. Examining major projects such as high-speed rail, cross-border transport links and new mobility networks, the authors contend that infrastructure is doing more than connecting cities—it is actively redefining economic relationships, governance and regional identity. They describe this process as “infrastructural regionalism,” suggesting that mobility systems now play a central role in responding to multiple challenges, including economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions and climate risks. The study offers a fresh perspective on how infrastructure is transforming the GBA into a more interconnected and resilient metropolitan region.
