Noodle & Caboodle makes ex-Disney exec Jay Francis IP and acquisitions advisor UK-based creative development and IP studio Noodle & Caboodle Entertainment has appointed former Disney executive Jay Francis as an advisor, focused on original IP and acquisitions. Francis spent nearly two decades in leadership roles at Disney Television Animation, in senior creative and development positions overseeing production on series including Phineas & Ferb, Big City Greens, Amphibia, Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja and Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero. Francis also created and led the department’s inclusion and mentorship programmes, working with universities and industry organisations to support and develop talent from underrepresented backgrounds. Most recently, he collaborated with producers Bruce W Smith and Ralph Farquhar at BaR Productions on The Proud Family: Louder & Prouder, having earlier led development and acquisitions for Level 13, Film Roman’s online animation distribution network. In his advisory role, Francis will work alongside Noodle & Caboodle’s founder and chief creative officer Rich Staplehurst, lending strategic counsel on the development of original IP, the company’s approach to future acquisitions, and inclusion across the company’s slate and studio culture. Former Moonbug exec Staplehurst launched Noodle & Caboodle in March. In May, the company hired Nickelodeon veteran David Rosenberg as associate partner, to represent its development activity, partnerships and clients in the US.
