Whether it's Rocky inspiring someone to get fit, Elle Woods giving us the confidence to aim higher, or Shrek reminding us to be confident in our own skin, these findings show just how powerful the characters we meet on the big screen can be. "That shared big screen experience makes those moments even more memorable - the laughter, the emotion, the goosebumps and the conversations afterwards. That's exactly what National Cinema Weekend is about, and with every film and every seat at just £4 on 5th and 6th September, we hope that people across the UK and Ireland discover a new character, story or moment that will stay with them for years to come." More than eight in 10 (86%) said characters hit harder on the big screen, with comfy seats (55%), immersive sound (48%) and popcorn (45%) among cinema's biggest draws.
