In October 1976, Frank Moix was running a Sirloin Stockade steakhouse in Conway, Arkansas. He was a lifelong camping enthusiast, and he wanted to share the outdoors with his wife, Mary Jane, and their two young sons, Martin and Michael. That year the family bought a 1976 Skyline Golden Falcon from Razorback Camper Sales in Hot Springs. It was a purchase that would change the direction of the Moix family for generations. The family fell in love with the camper and the RV lifestyle right away. Frank reached out to Skyline Corporation about selling their products in Conway, and the relationship took off quickly. Before long he was selling Skyline Layton travel trailers out of the steakhouse parking lot during the day and running the restaurant at night. He named the new venture North Plaza Trailer Sales, after the shopping center where the steakhouse sat. In those early years the dealership moved around Conway, operating out of two restaurant properties and a gas station. After a tragic accident and fire at the leased Exxon station, Frank decided it was time to buy property of his own and give the business a permanent home. Putting Down Roots in Conway On January 3, 1986, North Plaza Trailer Sales officially became Moix Recreational Vehicles, and planning began on a new facility. The property would also house The Waterbed Warehouse, a boutique furniture store Mary Jane owned and ran. By January 1988, both businesses had moved into the new location on Collier Drive in Conway. That same year brought two additions that shaped the company. Jimmy Carroll joined and went on to give more than 30 years to the business. And 13-year-old Michael Moix started working part time alongside his father, learning the RV business from the ground up. Michael came on full time in May 1993, the same year Moix RV opened a location in Little Rock. He managed that dealership for 13 years before the company, following guidance from its Spader 20 Group, consolidated operations back into Conway. The Collier Drive property is still the heart of the company today, though it looks nothing like it did in 1988. The Conway campus now covers more than 13 acres with roughly 50,000 square feet under roof and 30 service bays. A long way from selling travel trailers in a steakhouse parking lot. Growing Across Arkansas The next chapter started in late 2021, when Frank and Michael acquired McGaugh RV in Springdale. Rebranded as Moix RV – McGaugh Outpost, it brought the company into Northwest Arkansas and added Jayco to a lineup that already included Grand Design, Forest River, Keystone, and nüCamp. In 2023, Frank combined his passion for the RV business with his love of construction and built Moix RV – Hot Springs Landing from the ground up in just over 14 months, bringing the Moix experience to southern Arkansas and introducing Grand Design to that market. That same year, Michael secured an exclusive partnership with Brinkley RV and opened the first exclusive Brinkley RV dealership at 1160 Collier Drive in Conway, a facility built specifically around the brand. Through 2024 and 2025 the momentum kept up. Frank and Michael fully renovated the Springdale facility to match the look and customer experience of the Conway and Hot Springs stores. In 2025, Alliance RV joined the lineup at Hot Springs, giving customers more to choose from and strengthening the company’s position in the Arkansas market. Moix RV – Mashburn Ridge In April 2026, Moix RV announced the acquisition of Mashburn RV in Jonesboro, a fixture of the Northeast Arkansas community for more than fifty years. The dealership has been rebranded as Moix RV – Mashburn Ridge and sits at 4100 Stadium Blvd. Mashburn RV has served Jonesboro since 1975, and Moix RV is proud to have been entrusted with that legacy by second-generation owner Lara Dickson. This was never about replacing what the Mashburn family built. Lara and her daughter, Haley Dickson, have joined the Moix team in Jonesboro, where they are carrying forward the same commitment to customer service that Lara’s parents, Jim and Helen Mashburn, started five decades ago. “Mashburn RV fits our corporate identity perfectly. They truly believe in servicing the customer as well as the RV industry, which aligns with Moix RV’s goal to be a customer service company that happens to sell RVs,” said Michael Moix, Dealer Principal of Moix RV and a second-generation owner. Customers of Moix RV – Mashburn Ridge can expect the same familiar faces and the same dedication to service they have always known, now backed by the resources of one of Arkansas’s longest-standing RV dealer groups. Come See Us Moix RV – Mashburn Ridge will host its grand opening September 9th through 12th at 4100 Stadium Blvd in Jonesboro. Stop by, meet the team, and see what fifty years of Mashburn service and fifty years of Moix service look like under one roof. For more information, visit moixrv.com or call (870) 932-2424.
