The star, 37, took to Instagram to share a video showing her with a cupcake with four candles alongside the caption: 'Isn't it boring being sober...?' before a montage of images of nature appeared with the words: 'What boring feels like'. In her celebratory post, she reflected on 'a big life change' in a nod to her split from Hugo Taylor, with whom she shares daughters Sienna, six, and Aurelia, four, after they announced in February they were set to divorce after seven years of marriage. Millie, who was married to Professor Green from 2013 to 2016, wrote: 'Recently, going through a big life change has brought a lot from my past to the surface, and I’m learning to sit in the discomfort of my feelings instead of trying to run from them.' She added that she 'felt like her life was over' after 'burning to the ground', writing: 'Celebrating 4 years sober. I feel so grateful... Millie Mackintosh celebrated four years of sobriety on Wednesday The star, 37, took to Instagram to share a video showing her with a cupcake with four candles alongside the caption: 'Isn't it boring being sober...?' before a montage of images of nature appeared with the words: 'What boring feels like' 'Honestly, almost lost for words at how thankful I am for this life for the hope, the joy and the beauty that has come from the ashes of what I once thought was my life burning to the ground. Four years ago, I genuinely felt like my life was over... 'I knew stopping drinking was the right thing to do, but God, I was scared. I couldn’t see any of the good stuff waiting for me on the other side yet. So what’s kept me on track? My sober community. Honest conversations with friends... 'Building a support team around me. Therapy. And the rituals I’ve slowly built into my life meditation, movement, learning to notice how I speak to myself and practising being kinder to myself... 'I’ve realised sobriety and self-love isn’t a one-and-done thing. It’s something I keep choosing, every day... 'Recently, going through a big life change has brought a lot from my past to the surface, and I’m learning to sit in the discomfort of my feelings instead of trying to run from them... 'And I still find ways to escape. Lately I’ve caught myself doom-scrolling when I don’t want to feel something. But awareness is everything. Because once you can see the pattern, you have a chance to choose differently... 'I want to keep this real: I absolutely do not have life figured out. I don’t have a life plan or a five-year plan. I don’t know exactly what comes next. But for the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m moving out of survival mode and into something new... She shared the montage to respond to naysayers Millie is pictured in 2015 before she went sober 'I’m proud of the woman I’m becoming. I’m proud of the woman who, four years ago, made a terrifying decision without knowing where it would lead her... 'And more than anything, I’m so, so thankful she did. Four years sober. And I wouldn’t trade this life for anything. Feel the fear and do it anyway.' Millie and Hugo officially filed for divorce and both appointed legal teams, with the pair said to be keen for a 'clean break' while continuing to co-parent. The couple were on-off for around 15 years with a significant gap in the middle. After first dating on Made In Chelsea in 2011, they split the same year before reuniting in 2016 when she split from Professor Green. Before their separation, Millie and Hugo spent months completing a full renovation on their £5million family home, regularly sharing updates about the project. In April 2025, Millie posted a year into their renovation, revealing that the past 12 months had included 'time, energy and late nights'. Millie is pictured with Hugo in 2011 Millie said: 'It's wild to think it's been a whole year since we started our renovation… sometimes you get so caught up in the day-to-day that you forget to stop and appreciate just how far you've come. 'When I look back to the early days — the plans, the moodboards, the dust (so much dust!), the endless decisions and all the highs and lows that come with a project like this — it honestly feels like a lifetime ago.' She continued: 'It took time, energy, late nights and a lot of patience… but seeing it now, I'm so proud of everything we put into it. 'The best part? We're finally at the stage where it's about the little things. Filling the space with art, books and those pieces you pick up over time that make a house feel like home. 'There's still plenty I want to do — but it feels really special to pause, look back and soak it all in.'
