Пастор из Восточного Техаса получил главную роль в новой религиозной телесериале «Бездомный Генри»

East Texas pastor, Longview man land roles in faith-based TV series Published 5:35 am Wednesday, August 12, 2026 East Texas pastor Dr. Rickey Moore Sr. is expanding his ministry from the pulpit to television screens. Moore has been cast in a lead role for GodZoneTV’s newest original faith-based series, “Homeless Henry.” “I can hardly talk, I can hardly speak,” Moore said after shouting “hallelujah” during an interview in his office. “One thing about me, about being from Louisiana, I just shout any time the Lord does something good for you.” Moore will portray Thaddeus Walker, a pastor and mentor whose guidance helps shape the future of a young boy named Henry and the man raising him, Billy. Moore is joined by fellow East Texas castmates Mat Williams of Longview as “Pops” and Sawyer Poole as Henry. “I am humble, grateful, and thankful,” said Moore, who leads Marshall’s New Vision Missionary Baptist Church @Hillcrest. “I learned a long time ago, if you are persistent, you will get it. If you are consistent, you will keep it. And if you’re grateful, you will attract more of it. “And always put God first.’” ‘Divine appointment’ GodZoneTV producer and director Stuart Miller considered Moore the perfect fit for the role after working with him when Moore played an extra during local production for “Preacher Man,” a film by Hallsville filmmaker David Ford. “ ‘Homeless Henry’ was a project that my daughter and my grandson, who was about 11 years old at the time, put together back in 2006,” said Stuart, who originally wrote the story. “We eventually made about a 50-minute movie of the first script that we did. We always had the idea of it being a TV series, but we never did anything with it until recently.” He said the idea weighed on his heart. “So I pulled out the script that they’d been working on for years for the pilot episode. I started reading through it, and every time I read that character description, Rickey Moore popped into my mind. There was never anybody else envisioned for that role but him. “That’s just from getting to know him, working with him for a month over there in Marshall,” Stuart added. “He quickly became my personal assistant [on set]. He is very helpful. And I love him dearly. We’re family now. We got the same blood of Jesus.” Miller said Moore’s life mirrors the compassion, wisdom, humility, kindness and faith that make up the qualities of the character he will portray in “Homeless Henry.” “Many of you know Pastor Rickey’s heart for people,” Miller said. “This role simply gives him another opportunity to serve Christ through a different platform. I think it was a divine appointment for him to play this role.” Production for the TV series began in mid-July in Waco. About the series Miller said while the series is a fictional story, its message is deeply rooted in biblical principles of compassion, discipleship, hope, and the transforming power of God’s love. “We pray this series will encourage families, strengthen believers, and reach those who may never step inside a church but are willing to watch a story unfold on a screen,” Miller said. Based on the original short film “Homeless Henry: Through the Tears,” the TV series follows the story of Billy Williams, a Christian whose life changes forever after making a promise to a dying mother to protect her infant son. Told through the eyes of 12-year-old Henry from passages in his journal, the series explores themes of sacrifice, adoption, forgiveness and trusting God’s direction through life’s most difficult circumstances. “Our goal has never been simply to entertain,” Miller said. “We want to tell stories that point people to Jesus Christ and remind them that God is still changing lives every day.” In the TV series, Moore’s character plays a voice of reason, providing encouragement, spiritual guidance and sound advice — something he says comes naturally. “I counsel people all the time. That’s what I do,” Moore said. “It’s another opportunity to spread the gospel.” He often incorporates theatrics to drive home the messages in his sermons. “So I always have been theatrical,” Moore said. “I like for people not only to hear what I say, but I want you to see what I say.” That’s what he wants to continue to do in his role as Pastor Thaddeus Walker. Filming is primarily in Waco and Mart, although some will be closer to home in Gilmer. For information, go to www.godzonetv.com or find GodZone TV on Facebook, YouTube or on the GodZoneTV Roku app.
