Man accused of refusing to leave Palm Springs bar, entering wrong Uber PALM SPRINGS, Fla. (CBS12) — A Lake Worth man was arrested early Wednesday after police said he refused to leave a Palm Springs bar, entered an Uber he had not ordered and later threatened officers while in custody. Rafael Martinez, 40, faces misdemeanor charges of disorderly intoxication, trespassing and threatening a law enforcement officer, according to a Palm Springs Police Department probable cause affidavit. Police were called about 2:57 a.m. Sept. 2 to Frenchie’s Bar at 3476 Second Ave. for a report of an unwanted guest. An Uber driver told officers he had arrived to pick up a passenger when Martinez got into his vehicle, according to the affidavit. The driver said Martinez was not the passenger he was there for and refused to get out after being told to leave. The driver also told police Martinez used racial slurs and appeared intoxicated. A bar employee told police Martinez had been causing problems inside the business and had refused to pay for a drink, forcing the employee to pay for it. The employee told Martinez he was no longer welcome and wanted him trespassed from the property, police said. Officers said Martinez appeared intoxicated and repeatedly refused commands to leave. He allegedly remained on the property, stood near a marked patrol vehicle and demanded that officers give him a ride.
