Magnolia Gives Back: Supporting Local Families Through Holiday Food and Toy Drives Washington (7News) — For 75 years, Magnolia Plumbing, Heating & Cooling has served families throughout the Washington, DC area. But for Magnolia, serving the community goes beyond helping homeowners with their plumbing, heating and cooling needs. As the holiday season approaches, Magnolia is giving back through several community initiatives designed to help local families and children in need. Throughout November, Magnolia hosts a canned food drive benefiting the Capital Area Food Bank. Customers can participate while receiving service from Magnolia by simply giving canned food donations directly to their technician. Magnolia collects the donations and delivers them to the food bank, making it easy for customers to support their community without making an additional trip. The giving continues in December with Magnolia’s holiday toy drive. Customers can donate new toys that will be provided to Children’s National Hospital, helping bring some extra joy to children during the holiday season. Magnolia also participates in the Giving Hearts Project, a nonprofit initiative that allows members of the community to nominate someone in need. Selected recipients can receive HVAC or plumbing repairs, replacements or upgrades for their homes. For Magnolia, these programs are about more than donations. They provide an opportunity to bring customers, employees and neighbors together around a shared commitment to helping others. As Magnolia’s Rebeca explained during Good Morning Washington, one of the most rewarding parts is seeing both the smiles these programs bring to recipients and how eager members of the community are to participate. Customers interested in supporting Magnolia’s upcoming food and toy drives can participate when scheduling an eligible plumbing or HVAC service. Magnolia technicians can collect donations directly from customers’ homes. After 75 years of serving the region, Magnolia continues to demonstrate that taking care of a community can mean much more than taking care of its homes.
